Hi I’m Rachel and I am so glad you’re here!

I am a photographer and have been for over a decade, and I have recently found new creative depth in the art of painting. I started painting a couple years ago as new inspiration swelled in my heart.

Trying a new art form has been an incredible experience for me and I urge every human on this earth to start something totally new as an adult at least once in their lives.

I am extremely humbled to find myself in a place where enough people have asked to buy my paintings and I am filled with joy at the thought of my art hanging in your home. Something that has been a corner of quiet discovery, play, creativity, and worship for me has now given birth to some pieces that I can’t wait to share with the world.

I work in abstracts, and I almost always work with acrylic paint on watercolor paper. I paint what I see or what I want to see in broad strokes and lots of layers.

Every piece is unique and has it’s own imperfections. The paint spills into the tape, the edges rip, the water pools for too long and makes for a wavy piece of paper…etc. I find these things to be a valuable lesson in art and humanity. Art is a deeply human experience. As I put brush to paper, my hope is that instead of seeing any imperfections as less valuable you might gaze upon those edges and be drawn to ponder just how magical real human beings are.
